Q: What do I do if the stones are making noise / there is a burning smell in my Mockmill?
A: If you twist the top off, you will see a circular white plastic top. If you lift it, you should see 2 springs. One on the side of the spout and one on the other side. If you don't have these two springs, this could be the cause of the problem.

If both springs are there, make sure the black marker line on the white plastic top is lined up with the spring closer to the spout. If the marker is anywhere else, it could cause an imbalance.

Q: When does a Mockmill need to be re-calibrated?
A: Any time you take it apart, or if the flour coming out has an inconsistent texture.

Q: How do I calibrate my Mockmill?
A: It is a fairly simple process, and it will only need to be done once.
Turn the hopper until you can just hear the stones touching. Lift the whole unit up by the hopper. This should stop the sound of the stones hitting.
If you can still hear the stones touching when you lift it, loosen it by a "tick or two" and lift again.

Once you have found that spot you can remove the dot sticker and place it at the 0 position. Your mill is recalibrated!

Q: What do I do if my Mockmill is producing flour at too fast OR too slow of a rate?
A: Your Mockmill sounds like it needs to be cleaned! Run some plain white rice through the Mockmill, starting at the coarsest setting, slowly moving it to the finest setting as it mills. That should work!
 Step-by-step instructions:
1. Make sure the springs are in place
2. Calibrate the stones then loosen them off so you can't hear them touching at all.
3. Leave that running for a minute then slowly add some white rice.
4. Slowly tighten the stones until you reach 1 or 0.
5. Keep milling until all the rice has passed through.
6. Empty the flour bin and brush out any remaining dust.
7. Run a small amount of your regular grain through to check that the flow rate is back to normal.
